I am Anowa Quarcoo.

I’m a third-culture kid who’s also a values-driven public speaker, problem-solver, civic champion and interdisciplinary creative.

By day, I’ve worked in strategy, marketing and communications for 13+ years. By night I’m a civic advocate, working to make my city a better place; a visual artist, who specializes in modern batik; and a DJ called Sonic Griot who plays Afrohouse and electronic music.

I’m co-founder of Civic Tech Toronto and Moja and I’m one of three parts of Afrique Like Me, a collective that’s dedicated to celebrating African alternative and electronic music.

I have an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, a Masters of Global Affairs from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, and a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University.
